Job Summary Are you a strategic credit leader with a strong foundation in quantitative analysis and a passion for delivering impactful collections strategies? A leading African financial services group is seeking a Head of Home Loans Collections to drive the recovery and rehabilitation of secured assets across its Home Loans portfolio.
Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement robust collections and recovery strategies for distressed secured assets (immovable, tangible, and intangible).
• Lead and manage the Home Loans Collections team to achieve risk-adjusted targets and portfolio quality.
• Provide quantitative insights to inform decision-making and optimize portfolio performance.
• Ensure adherence to legal, regulatory, and compliance frameworks, especially around foreclosure processes.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across Credit Risk, Legal, and Finance teams to safeguard asset value and drive sustainability.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Commerce, Finance and Accounting, Mathematical Sciences, Risk Management, or Quantitative Studies.
• Certified Risk Manager (CRM) or similar qualification would be advantageous.
• A minimum of 10 years' experience in credit risk, with a strong focus on collections, recoveries, portfolio analysis, or credit risk strategy in banking.
• Deep understanding of secured lending, particularly in the home loans space.
• Proven leadership in managing high-performing teams and designing recovery strategies grounded in data and analytics.

Technical Skills & Competencies

• Strong command of quantitative analysis, financial modelling, and credit risk assessment.
• Expertise in portfolio management, foreclosure processes, regulatory compliance, and risk reporting.
• Proficiency in data quality, workflow management, and financial/accounting control.
• Ability to drive performance while upholding high governance and ethical standards.
