Job Description

Pele Energy Group is seeking a motivated graduate to join our ESG team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop expertise in ESG and sustainability. The graduate will collaborate closely with the team across all ESG initiatives, including environmental data collection and analysis, ESG reporting, compliance monitoring, and supporting the implementation of the Environmental and Social Management System (ESMS).


Requirements



Key Responsibilities



Support the implementation and continuous improvement of the ESMS. Assist in the preparation of sustainability reports aligned with global ESG frameworks (GRI, TCFD, SASB). Support the development and implementation of ESG initiatives. Assist in the collection, analysis, and reporting of ESG data across environmental, social, and governance metrics. Support data management, analysis, and visualisation using Excel or similar tools. Contribute to the calculation and reporting of Scope 1, 2 and 3 GHG emissions. Conduct research on sustainability trends, regulatory developments, and emerging best practices. Support the implementation of policies and procedures related to ESG compliance Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed ESG principles into Company operations. Contribute to ESG documentation and internal communications. Provide administrative and technical support to the ESG team.

Desired Skills & Qualifications



Bachelor's degree

(BSc or equivalent) in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Chemical Engineering, Sustainability, Climate Change, Economics, or related fields. Basic understanding of ESG principles and sustainability practices. Familiarity with

global ESG frameworks and reporting standards

(GRI, TCFD, SASB) and IFC Performance Standards. Knowledge of GHG Protocol and carbon reporting methodologies. Coursework or experience related to Scope 1, 2, and 3 GHG accounting. Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with data analysis and visualisation tools (e.g. Excel, Power BI, Tableau). Strong analytical, problem-solving, and research skills. Collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Basic report writing skills. Understanding of South Africa's environmental policies and regulations.
