Job Description




Skills:

  • Welcome walk-in customers to the bakery
  • Provide excellent service to retail customers and serve sit-down customers
  • Perform payment transactions
  • Take online, telephonic and delivery orders
  • Take responsibility for the till and cash up sheets
  • Place orders with suppliers
  • Ensure shop looks clean and presentable at all times
  • Ensure shelves are always stocked and clean
  • Conduct yourself in a professional manner towards customers and colleagues at all times
  • Look presentable at all times
  • Make all beverages from coffees and teas to juices
  • Assist colleagues during busy times
  • Perform customer service with regards to complaints and compliments

  • The ability to sell will be an advantage over other applicants

  • Possess leadership skills to manage and coordinate the Front of House and be the cheerleader and motivator of the bakery and kitchen team
  • Know how to manage and work in a team, being part of the team is a must-have for a successful Front of House
  • Be professional and have excellent people skills
  • Exceptionally skilled at welcoming, serving, and interacting with guests
  • Able to intervene in any conflict that might arise with customers, employees and suppliers
  • Be precise, with attention to detail
Additional:
  • 2-3 years' experience as a waiter, customer service or front of house in a restaurant, cafxc3xa9 or bakery environment
  • It is an added advantage if you have barista and Mediterranean or Lebanese food knowledge
  • Experience with Point of Sale (POS) systems and devices
  • Experience with and good knowledge of processing delivery orders relating to Uber Eats and Mr D Food
  • Fluent in English
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Must be able to be on feet all day
  • SA citizen or relevant work permits (no less than 12 months, negotiable to 6 months, but then a fixed term contract applies with no renewal if papers are not provided before end of 6 months)
  • The employee's normal hours of work will be 8-hour shifts, between the hours of 6am to 6pm, Monday to Sunday. Saturdays and Sundays are considered working days.
  • Off days are during the week
