The Financial Manager - Sales & Marketing is a senior leadership position responsible for the full financial management of the Sales & Marketing function. This includes managing all accounting and reporting processes, ensuring regulatory and export compliance, driving commercial analysis, and delivering operational efficiencies.
This role is not back-office finance - it requires a highly engaged financial leader who partners with Sales & Marketing to influence decisions, improve margins, and enable sustainable growth. The ideal candidate will have the confidence to challenge, the skill to collaborate, and the track record to deliver measurable impact in a fast-paced, high-performance business.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and Honours Degree in Accounting (required)
Professional qualification such as CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent (strong advantage)
Registration with a recognised professional body (advantageous)
Experience:
A Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in financial management, including:
Proven ability to deliver results in commercially driven, high-performance environments.
Strong working knowledge of export-related finance and compliance processes.
Hands-on ERP systems experience (SAP, D365, Oracle or equivalent).
Demonstrated success in leading finance projects that deliver tangible business improvements.
Proven track record in sales and margin analysis with clear commercial outcomes.
Experience in manufacturing, FMCG, or export-oriented sectors (advantageous).
Demonstrated Competence:
Leading divisional financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
Translating complex financial data into clear, actionable business insights.
Driving cost optimisation and process improvement across finance and commercial operations.
Designing and implementing robust internal controls and mitigating financial risk.
Partnering with Sales & Marketing to influence pricing, customer profitability, and market strategy.
Managing performance metrics and ensuring accountability to financial KPIs.
Technical Knowledge & Skills:
Strong ERP and systems orientation with a mindset for automation and process efficiency.
Advanced Excel for modelling, analysis, and decision support.
Strong understanding of accounting systems, controls, and audit readiness.
Leadership capability to coach, mentor, and hold teams accountable for delivery.
Effective interpersonal and influencing skills at senior level.
Commercial decision-making with a balance of risk and opportunity.
