Job Description

We are looking for a Financial Manager who is dynamic and enjoys the high stakes nature of the mining industry. Financial leadership isn't just about numbers; it's about driving strategic decisions that secure long term growth and operational stability.
As a seasoned financial professional with a deep understanding of resource driven markets, you will bring the analytical rigor, risk management insights, and industry specific experience necessary to navigate complex financial landscapes and add real value, from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Planning & Forecasting:
  • Develop and implement financial strategies to support business goals
  • Prepare budgets, financial forecasts, and long-term business plans
  • Analyse market trends and financial data to advise on business decisions
  • Financial Reporting & Analysis:
  • Produce accurate financial reports, statements, and performance metrics
  • Conduct variance analysis between actual and budgeted figures
  • Present financial results to senior management and stakeholders
  • Cost Control & Efficiency:
  • Monitor operational costs and implement cost-reduction strategies
  • Identify areas for financial improvement and increased efficiency
  • Oversee asset and capital expenditure management
  • Risk Management & Compliance:
  • Identify financial risks and implement mitigation strategies
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax laws, and industry standards
  • Liaise with External Auditors, regulatory bodies, and tax authorities
  • Cash Flow & Treasury Management:
  • Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and working capital requirements
  • Manage bank relationships, loans, and funding arrangements
  • Oversee investment and financing decisions
  • Team Leadership & Development:
  • Lead and mentor the finance team to ensure performance and professional growth
  • Oversee training, delegation, and performance reviews
  • Collaborate with other departments to align financial and operational goals
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Provide strategic financial input to the executive team
  • Prepare financial presentations for shareholders and Board meetings
  • Support business development and project feasibility assessments
Qualifications & Skills:
  • BCom Accounting Degree
  • CIMA
  • ACCA
  • Knowledge of IFRS
