Financial Director - Construction Industry If you can balance the books as well as a scaffolding crew balances beams, this might just be the role for you. We're looking for a Financial Director in Carletonville (Johannesburg West) who can lay the foundations for long-term success, keep the company's financial structures sturdy, and ensure every project is built on solid ground.
This isn't your typical "counting pennies" position; it's about steering strategy, managing risk, and partnering with the CEO to make sure every decision is built to last.
What You'll Be Building (a.k.a. Your Duties)
- Drafting and executing financial blueprints.
- Overseeing budgets, cost control, and forecasting.
- Keeping cash flow steady.
- Structuring and negotiating project financing, loans, and investor arrangements.
- Producing accurate financial reporting and insights.
- Assessing and mitigating financial risks.
- Partnering with project and commercial teams.
- Leading and developing your finance team.
- Driving system improvements.
- A solid qualification: BCom, BCom (Hons), ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
- Proven financial leadership experience within the construction industry (hard hat not included).
- Sharp understanding of construction project financing, contracts, and compliance.
- Leadership skills strong enough to inspire teams and influence the boardroom.
- Communication skills that make even the most complex financials sound clear as glass.
