Job Description


The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the finance and administrative functions in line with
accounting standards and within corporate governance protocols in support of Johannesburg Surgical Hospital
Objective and Strategy.

Qualification Required

  • Bachelorxe2x80x99s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a finance and administration role, preferably in a healthcare setting
  • Strong knowledge of financial management, budgeting, and accounting principles
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance in the healthcare industry
  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal
Skills Profile & Experience
  • Oversee the financial management of the hospital, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Develop and monitor annual budgets in collaboration with department heads an/ or Board.
  • Implement and maintain financial policies ad procedures to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and other financial transactions.
  • Prepare financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with external auditors to ensure a smooth audit process.
  • Monitor and analyse financial performance, providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Administer employee benefit programs and ensure compliance with labour laws.
  • Oversee the administrative function of the hospital, including patient services and administration.
  • Supervise finance and administrative staff and provide leadership to ensure efficient operations.
  • Collaborate with department heads to streamline financial and administrative processes and improve overall efficiency.
  • Implement and enforce policies and policies and procedures related to administrative functions.
  • Take full responsibility for patient billing and collection of outstanding debt.
  • Good understanding of the funder market
  • Prepare quarterly financial risk review.
  • Present an interpret financial statements to the Board of directors.
  • Ensure the financial stability and sustainability of a Hospital
  • Maintain compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Streamline administrative processes to enhance overall efficiency.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment within the finance and administration team.
  • Contribute to overall success and reputation of the hospital through effective financial management and administration.
