Position: Executive Chef
Location: Luxury Game Lodge | South Africa
Contract Type: Full-Time | Live-In Position

We are seeking a dynamic, innovative, and experienced Executive Chef to lead our culinary team and elevate our dining experience to new heights.
Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the kitchen and culinary team
• Design and execute high-end, seasonal menus that reflect the lodge's luxury standards
• Maintain the highest level of food quality, presentation, and hygiene
• Manage food cost, stock control, and kitchen budgeting in line with company targets
• Ensure exceptional guest satisfaction through consistent culinary excellence
• Train, lead, and inspire a team of chefs, kitchen staff, and service teams
• Work closely with lodge management to ensure seamless coordination across departments
• Uphold and implement lodge policies, including sustainability and local sourcing initiatives

Requirements:

• A formal culinary qualification from a recognized institution
• Minimum 5 years' experience as an Executive Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a luxury lodge or boutique hotel environment
• Proven leadership and kitchen management skills
• Exceptional knowledge of international and African cuisine
• Strong understanding of food cost controls, ordering, and stock management
• Passion for the bush and experience working in remote lodge settings
• High attention to detail, creativity, and the ability to work under pressure
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
