Job Description

Our client, a prestigious turnkey engineering and steel fabrication company, seeks to employ a qualified and experienced Training Centre Supervisor, with a solid background in welding and boilermaking training, to join their team in Cape Town.

Please note that this role has very specific criteria to meet for consideration, to include a trade test as a boilermaker or welder, coupled with certification as a moderator/assessor and at least 10 years experience in the training, mentoring, assessing and supervising of apprentices and junior technical workshop employees

KEY REQUIREMENTS TO MEET FOR CONSIDERATION

• You will have completed a trade test as boilermaker, welder or related, coupled with a recognised and registered certification as a moderator/assessor in the engineering sector and 10 plus years experience in training and supervising apprentices and workshop employees.
• You will have a proven track record in managing a training centre, ensuring setting up and facilitation of assessments, ensuring training and mentoring of artisans and tradesmen is of a high standard and according to industry standards, as well as identify training needs in consultation with management.
• You will keep meticulous training and assessment records on employees, as well as invigilate and create theoretical training as required.
• You will have gained experience in the recruitment of contractors, from a technical perspective, as well as having provided support to HR departments with regards to technical and workshop training needs and new legislation/practical assessments and methodology.
• You will have exceptional interpersonal skills, a high level of fluency in English, with Afrikaans and/or Xhosa being highly advantageous
• You must have a valid driverxe2x80x99s licence, own car and a clear criminal and credit record
