Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused Desktop Support Engineer to join our IT team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical assistance and support to end-users, troubleshooting hardware, software, and network-related issues, and ensuring smooth day-to-day IT operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide first and second-level technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals. Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, applications, and hardware. Troubleshoot and resolve software, hardware, and network issues in a timely manner. Assist with user account setup, password resets, and access permissions in Active Directory/O365. Maintain inventory of IT equipment and ensure assets are properly tracked. Document issues and resolutions in ticketing systems. Collaborate with other IT teams to escalate and resolve complex issues. Provide support for remote users and mobile devices as required. Ensure adherence to company IT policies and procedures.
Requirements:
Proven experience in a Desktop Support or similar IT support role. Strong knowledge of Windows OS, Microsoft Office, and common desktop applications. Familiarity with Active Directory, O365, and basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP). Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Strong customer service orientation with good communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft MCSA) preferred but not required.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: R980,00 - R1070,00 per day
Expected hours: 15 - 25 per week
Work Location: On the road
