Position Overview

The following job specifications are for positions available with AKB Technology and our clients. All positions are offered on a 1-year contract basis. We offer competitive industry rates commensurate with experience and qualifications.

We are looking for a motivated and reliable L1 technician to join our Data Center, Facilities, and Hosting team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing first-line support for the data center facilities and assisting with basic hosting tasks. This is an entry-level position ideal for an individual looking to start a career in data center operations.

Key Responsibilities

Perform daily walkthroughs and inspections of the data center facilities.

Monitor environmental conditions (power, cooling, etc.) and report any anomalies.

Assist with the installation and decommissioning of server and network equipment.

Provide "remote hands" support for clients and other IT teams.

Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the data center.

Assist with basic hosting tasks, such as server reboots and media changes.

Escalate issues to the L2 team as required.

Qualifications and Experience

A certificate or diploma in a technical field is preferred.

A basic understanding of IT and data center concepts.

A strong willingness to learn and follow procedures.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.
