Role Overview

As a Commis Chef at Moda Deli, you will support the kitchen team in daily food preparation, cooking, and service. This is a hands-on learning role where you'll gain experience across all kitchen sections, develop your culinary skills, and contribute to creating dishes our customers love.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation and cooking of menu items. Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, and presentation at all times. Follow recipes, portion control, and plating guidelines consistently. Assist with stock rotation, storage, and daily prep lists. Keep work areas clean, organised, and compliant with health & safety standards. Support smooth service during busy periods by working efficiently and as part of the team. Learn and develop new skills, techniques, and knowledge across different kitchen sections.
Requirements

Previous kitchen experience is an advantage but not essential - enthusiasm and willingness to learn are key. A genuine passion for food, cooking, and hospitality. Ability to follow instructions, take feedback, and work in a team. Good communication skills and a positive, can-do attitude. Attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards. Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
