Commis Chef xe2x80x93 4-Star Hotel, Cape TownA new 4-star hotel in Cape Town is seeking a passionate and dedicated Commis Chef to join their dynamic kitchen team. This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring chef to gain hands-on experience in a professional kitchen environment.Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and cooking of high-quality dishes under the supervision of senior chefs.
  • Maintain hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen, following health and safety regulations.
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of ingredients to maintain food quality.
  • Support chefs in plating and presentation to uphold the hotelxe2x80x99s standards.
  • Follow recipes and kitchen guidelines while learning and improving culinary techniques.
  • Assist in stock control, food portioning, and waste management.
Requirements:
  • South African ID or valid work permit.
  • A culinary qualification is preferred.
  • A strong passion for cooking and a willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding of kitchen hygiene and safety protocols.
  • Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required.
