We are seeking a motivated and passionate Commis Chef to join the culinary team at a well-established property in Cape Town.

Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation and presentation of dishes to the highest standard in your assigned section.
Maintain a clean and organised workstation, adhering to all hygiene and food safety standards.
Support senior chefs with mise en place, cooking, and plating during service.
Help manage stock levels and report shortages or inconsistencies to the section leader.
Work as part of a team to ensure kitchen operations run smoothly and efficiently.
Ensure portion control, consistency, and minimal wastage across all preparations.
Take on new tasks and training with a positive attitude and a desire to improve.
Assist with cleaning and closing procedures as per kitchen standards.
Requirements:
Previous experience in a professional kitchen environment is required.
Culinary training or a relevant hospitality qualification is advantageous.
Sound understanding of basic cooking techniques and kitchen operations.
Strong work ethic and ability to perform under pressure.
Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
Reliable, punctual, and eager to grow within the culinary field.
