Commercial Assistant

Our client supplies speciality vegetables, both imported and locally grown, to South Africa's leading supermarkets on a year-round basis. The company is currently looking to employ a dynamic individual who is eager to learn and grow, to play a vital role in their sales operations.
This position is ideal for a highly organised, analytical, and motivated individual to join a high energy, small team of professionals. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who enjoys working on and learning new systems, has high levels of attention to detail and enjoys providing proactive support.
The incumbent will be responsible for the following:

• Sales and order management (capturing and processing of orders, following up on orders, communicating stock availability, etc.)
• Provide support to the GM w.r.t. sales administration and logistics coordination
• Assist the packhouses with Nav and Datagear system queries
• Upload and capture information on Nav and Datagear systems
• Generate weekly reports (forecasts vs actual orders and others)
• Monitor stock levels and conduct inventory investigations
• Provide support in audits (financial audits, carbon footprint audits, waste audits and packaging assessments)
• Assist with stock forecasting and packaging orders

The ideal candidate has the following knowledge, experience, and skills:

• A relevant tertiary qualification (BCom / BA in Office Administration or relevant field)
• Experience in a similar position in fresh produces, sales coordination, or related fields
• Advanced computer skills and experience in ERP systems (MS Navision preferred)
• Strong attention to detail and an analytical approach to tasks
• Excellent time management, planning, prioritising, and coordination skills
• Good communication and interpersonal skills (Afrikaans & English), and strong sense of self-confidence
• Highly adaptable and willing to learn and take on additional tasks where possible
• Ability to work independently and take responsibility for outcomes
• High levels of integrity, professionalism, and strong ethical standards in all aspects of work
