Job Description

The successful candidate will:

  • Maintain, repair, and service all catering and kitchen equipment throughout the hotel.
  • Ensure all kitchen appliances operate efficiently, safely, and comply with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities Equipment Maintenance & Repair
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on catering equipment, including ovens, hobs, fryers, dishwashers, and refrigeration units.
  • Diagnose faults and carry out repairs to ensure operational continuity.
  • Install new kitchen appliances and ensure proper commissioning.
Quality & Standards
  • Ensure all equipment is functioning at optimal performance levels.
  • Maintain high standards of safety, hygiene, and efficiency in all repairs.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and service schedules.
Health, Safety & Compliance
  • Follow all occupational health and safety guidelines, including PPE usage.
  • Comply with food safety and hygiene standards while working on kitchen equipment.
  • Ensure safe handling of tools, chemicals, and appliances.
Team Collaboration
  • Work closely with the engineering, maintenance, and kitchen teams to support smooth hotel operations.
  • Respond to emergency breakdowns promptly to minimize disruption to kitchen services.
Qualifications & Education Requirements
  • Technical or trade qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, or Catering Equipment Maintenance.
  • Proven experience maintaining commercial kitchen and catering equipment.
  • Knowledge of cooking appliances, refrigeration, and dishwashing systems.
Preferred Skills
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • Team player with good communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience
  • Minimum 24 years experience as a Catering Technician or in a similar role, preferably in hotels or commercial kitchens.
