We are seeking a skilled and creative Catering Chef to lead food preparation and execution for a wide range of events, from private functions to large corporate gatherings. The ideal candidate is highly organised, thrives in fast-paced environments, and can produce consistent, high-quality dishes at scale while maintaining exceptional food safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, prepare, and present high-quality dishes tailored to event menus and client preferences.
Develop menus that suit a variety of functions, including weddings, corporate events, private dinners, and large-scale catering.
Manage food production timelines to ensure all dishes are prepared, packed, and delivered on schedule.
Oversee kitchen staff and coordinate tasks during event preparation and on-site service.
Ensure all food is prepared according to health, hygiene, and safety regulations.
Monitor inventory, place ingredient orders, and manage food costs effectively.
Maintain a clean and organised kitchen and ensure compliance with sanitation protocols.
Adapt recipes and menu items based on dietary needs, cultural requirements, and budget considerations.
Collaborate with event coordinators and front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction.
Provide on-site cooking or carving when required, including setting up mobile or temporary kitchen stations.
Skills & Qualifications
Proven experience as a Catering Chef, Banqueting Chef, or similar culinary role.
Strong culinary skills across multiple cuisines (or specify preferred cuisine).
Excellent organisational and time-management abilities.
Ability to lead a team and delegate tasks effectively.
Strong understanding of food safety, HACCP, and kitchen hygiene standards.
Ability to work under pressure and adapt to last-minute changes.
Valid culinary certification or relevant training (optional).
Ability to lift and transport catering equipment and supplies as needed.
A driver's licence is essential.
