CASHBOOK CLERK

Overview

A vacancy exists in our Head Office in Atlantic Hills for an experienced Cashbook Clerk. The successful incumbent must have integrity, be meticulous and reliable. The prime focus of this position is the full responsibility of the cashbook function, including the banking reconciliations, following up and clearing of all reconciling items, daily cash management and other ad hoc payments.

The vacancy requires a person who:

- Has the ability to apply Accounting principles

- Is detail orientated

- Possesses high degree of accuracy

- Efficient time management skills

- Must be able to handle multiple priorities and deadlines

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Understanding of FMCG environment

Key Responsibilities

The incumbent will be responsible for

- Process the cashbook timeously and accurately

- Continuously review the cashbook to ensure that there are no errors or duplicated transactions

- Completion of cheque requests accurately and timeously

- Ensure that all transactions are recorded in the correct time-period, classification, allocation and are valid

- Meticulously conduct Weekly and monthly Bank reconciliation reviews, ensuring that the last day of trading bank statement is sufficiently generated for bank recons.

- Submit bank reconciliation to the relevant line manager

- Ensure that all payments are processed within 2 days of payment being made

- Completing deposit slips, bank and manage cash-in transit process and ensure that there are no delays

- Accept and record and confirm cash received from local retail stores onto the K8 system

- Dispensing and replenishing petty-cash to relevant branches as instructed by the line manager

- Collating and preparing lease payments to landlords

- Any other duties as requested by line management (Adhoc)

Requirements:

- Grade 12 or equivalent

- Higher qualification in Accounting (or related)

- FMCG experience (minimum 2 years)

- Driver's license

- K8 experience (essential for the position)

Salary:

Market related, based on experience
