This position will be supporting a team based in the Pacific Time Zone.AECOMxe2x80x99s Water Business Line is seeking a creative and highly motivated Associate Civil Design Manager specializing in grading and earthwork design for immediate employment. This is a technical role working with engineers and project managers on a variety of projects within the Dams, Mining and Water Resources markets.Job Summary/ResponsibilitiesThe responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:+ Extensive experience with Autodesk Civil 3D through release 2023, with an emphasis on complex and advanced multi-layered and surface modeling capabilities.+ Ability to take general and limited direction and simple sketches from engineers to then develop design criteria and progress through all stages of design.+ Dams xe2x80x93 Grading design and surface modeling for earth-fill, rockfill, conventional concrete and RCC embankments, quarries, spillways, outlet works, foundations and drains.+ Mining- Grading design, surface modeling and site development for tailing storage facilities, embankments, seepage ponds, utility corridors, waste rock piles, buttresses, ring dikes, underdrains, closure plans, and instrumentation and monitoring.+ Civil/Site- Site development, access roads, drainage channels, jurisdictional and non-jurisdictional dams, slope stabilization, retaining walls, detention ponds, land development, surface drainage, stream restoration and pipe/structure.+ Prepare detailed calculation packages for earthwork quantities, reservoir storage capacity, and tailing storage.+ Ability to process a variety of data sources to build existing base surfaces from LiDAR, survey points, breaklines, DEMs, and contours.+ Detailed understanding of coordinate systems and the ability to transform data from one system to another.+ Data management of survey and client data through the project life cycle.+ Meeting with clients for project kickoff, ongoing design review, and project close out.+ Works under limited supervision.+ Exchanging project data with multiple consultants through local and virtual servers.+ Generating and maintaining 3D federated models for clash detection, generating reports to demonstrate coordination progress and clash mitigation.+ Understanding and proactively implementing the required LOD, and CoBie data at each of the project stages, as per project-specific requirements.+ Developing periodic training sessions for the design team and other stakeholders.+ Creating, enforcing, updating, and implementing project-specific and practice-wide BIM standards and execution manuals, including both internal and external management of design teams.+ Work closely with the design team reporting requirements and agreements from BIM Coordination meetings.+ CADD project coordination and verification reviews.+ Mentoring other CAD production staff.+ Training and supervising workflow and seminars.+ Updating internal protocols within the organization.+ Visual rendering and sequencing output using Infraworks, Navisworks, Enscape or other tools.+ Performs both routine and non-routine, complex design assignments that require judgment in resolving issues or making recommendations.+ Field and survey experience a plus Generating labor estimates and authoring contract scope documents.Qualifications+ Bachelorxe2x80x99s Degree or eight (8) years of relevant experience demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or educationPreferred Experience:+ Fifteen (15) + years of relevant experience+ Twelve (12) + years of Civil3D experience in large scale/complex multidisciplinary projects+ Proficient with these software programs Civil3D, BIM360/ACC, Dynamo, ProjectWise, Microsoft Excel, Google Earth, Navisworks, InfraWorks, Vehicle Tracking, ReCap ESRI GIS, Blue Marble Global Mapper or other GIS application.+ Strong technical progression within civil engineering and design.+ Comprehensive knowledge of industry standards.+ Some experience with these software programs a plus: MicroStation, OpenRoads, OpenGround, GeoPak and Revit.+ The individual should have excellent leadership and communication skills+ Excellent demonstrable civil modeling ability on large scale/complex multidisciplinary projects+ As well as BIM/CIM manager duties, the individual would also be expected to work as a production designer and contributor to AECOM Digital innovations team.Additional InformationAll your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.With infrastructure investment accelerating worldwide, our services are in great demand, and therexe2x80x99s never been a better time to be at AECOM!
