Job Description

There is an opportunity for an Architect / BIM Manager to join the Industry Energy Asset Management Advisory Group in the Johannesburg / Cape Town / Umhlanga offices of Royal HaskoningDHV.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead project design development where applicable / required
• Create and/or modify existing architectural designs and models
• Undertake Master Planning for Greenfields and Brownfield industrial developments, considering, among others, process, and logistics flows
• Undertake both design and BIM coordination
• Prepare/assist with reports, technical drawings and specifications and tender documentation
• Ensure that all quality system procedures are followed in the production and issuing of designs, costing, drawings, and standard details at discipline level within the Advisory Group
• Regular contact and communication with the project team
• Guidance and mentorship to junior architects
• Ensure that work is done in accordance with acceptable standards of both Royal HaskoningDHV and its Clients
• Engage with clients / external stakeholders with respect to architectural discipline on aspects including project delivery, business development, client relationship management etc.
• Undertake design and project management in alignment with Royal HaskoningDHV Digital Ways of Working (DWoW), and be a champion for the DWoW programme within project teams
• Maintain records in accordance with internal quality system; and
• Other functions related to the role that may arise.

Qualifications,skills and experience

• Bachelor of Architecture Degree (Master of Architecture Degree preferred)
• Professional Architect (Pr. Arch) with SACAP is essential
• Registration with SA Institute of Architects (SAIA) is an advantage.
• 5-10 years post-qualification experience, preferably within a consulting engineering environment
• Mentorship experience
• Experience in Brownfields and Greenfields developments xe2x80x93 focus on industrial and mission critical facilities
• Appropriate knowledge of local and international standards and codes xe2x80x93 focus on industrial and mission critical facilities
• Experience working and collaborating in a multi-disciplinary engineering environment
• Experience working and collaborating in virtual team environment
• Experience in master planning of industrial sites and buildings, incorporating process flows and coordination
• BIM and Revit proficiency (advanced level) are mandatory and will be assessed. Certificates are beneficial
• Navisworks, Enscape and Revizto plus Photo-shop capability is an advantage
• Knowledge of Dynamo, Python, and other ways to automate workflows are highly beneficial
• Experience with Common Data Environments and other relevant platforms
• Ability to liaise with relevant stakeholders on all levels
