PURPOSE The barista is the person responsible for the quality of all caffxc3xa9 made in store according to the standards set by vida e caffxc3xa9. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Cleaning front of house:

• Surfaces & counters
• Chemical management equipment
• Coffee machine -
• general
• Coffee machine - daily backwashing
• Port filters & steam wands
• Grinders & brushes
• Tamp & knock box
• Milk jugs & thermometers
• Deep cleaning equipment & tools

Maintaining front of house:

• Condiments station
• Sending area
• Stock rotation procedures
• Packaging top-up & organising
• Variables/parameters on caffxc3xa9 production

Conducting & completing checklists:

• Opening & closing
• Espresso machine cleaning & backwashing
• Daily/weekly deep clean

Preparing caffxc3xa8xe2x80x99:

• All caffxc3xa8 products
• Strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures
• Assisting customersxe2x80x99 on caffxc3xa8 selection

Contributing & monitoring atmosphere:

• Communicating using company jargon
• Barista calls duty commands for Meza
• Assisting both the Meza & Food Specialist on all duties, according to the respective job descriptions

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

• Grade 12 / Matric pass
• Previous work experience in Retail / Hospitality or QSR
• Significant work experience as a Barista
• Outstanding communication skills with colleagues and customers
• Good command of the English language, both verbal and written
• Good understanding of customer service and hospitality principles
• Able to work in a high pressured environment
• Able to work overtime as required operationally
• A neat personal appearance and good hygiene
• Be able to work independently, as well as part of a team
• Strong organisational skills, including the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work
• Be willing & able to openly interact with customers and participate in team camaraderie
• Able to assist, coach and motivate
• Passionate, driven & self-motivated individual
