Duties and responsibilities:

Make and serve a variety of coffees and other beverages in the staff restaurant to a high standard.
Handle cash and card transactions with customers when required.
Take food orders and collect payments when required.
Count money in cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct and that there is adequate change if the hostess is not available.
Reconcile all card slips with transactions daily and record discrepancies with the assistance of the hostess.
Cash up at the end of the day, with the assistance of the manager/hostess.
Restock items as required daily.
Assist with capturing of all items/products received from service providers daily.
Assist with stock take in all areas of the kitchen and restaurant.
Assist with capturing stock take on the system at the end of the month.
Maintain clean and tidy areas at the counter and restaurant.
Perform other duties as required by Housing and Residence Affairs.
Available to work on weekends and after hours if required.

Inherent Job Requirements:

Grade 12 or National Vocational Certificate on NQF Level 4.
One (1) year experience as a Barista.
Knowledge of Point-of-Sale System.

Recommendations:

One (1) year experience in retail cashier or sales.

Salary:
The annual remuneration package is R211 391.43 R354 408.50 per annum, depending on the budget available for the position, relevant work experience and qualifications.
