Do fault finding, diagnostic testing and repair all electrical problems on vehicles and Trucks
Install and maintain new electrical software/components on vehicles and Trucks
Assess vehicles from an electrical perspective, interpret DTCs (diagnostic trouble codes) for root cause analysis.
Install and repair electrical and electronic equipment/components into vehicles
Analyze and interpret technical data, diagrams schematics and circuit boards
Install, repair and maintenance of automotive electrical systems and computer-based equipment found in various kinds of petrol and diesel engine motor vehicles including trucks
Required to use meters, testing equipment and computers to map electrical pathways and search for, locate and identify problems or malfunctions and faulty parts. Be able to dissemble, as well as correctly reassemble vehicle parts back together
Diagnose malfunctioning electrical systems in various kinds of petrol and diesel engine motor vehicles including trucks and plant and equipment
Test and calibrate electrical equipment and electrical and electronic components
Work in other areas of the business as required from time to time
Meet your individual deliverable dates on duties/tasks as stipulated by the Team Leader
Undertake other tasks, not limited by this job description as requested by the Team Leader
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Matric/ Grade 12 qualification
Trade Certificate from a recognized vocational institution
Computer skills plus ability in CAN Communication, LIN Communication and W - Wiring
At least 3-5 years experience working as an Auto Electrician within a manufacturing company
Automotive industry experience is essential
OHSE legislative knowledge
Technical skills, including knowledge of electrical systems and diagnostic equipment
COMPETENCIES:
Understanding of various electrical systems and safety awareness
Analytical skills and Problem-solving abilities
Technical proficiency with tools and Trouble shooting
Ability to work independently
Communication skills and Time management
