Job Summary The Swift team within CIB Payments Technology is looking for a Specialist Application Support Engineer with strong Linux experience to work as part of an integrated (run & build) tribe in lower complexity environments to provide enterprise wide application support across multiple stakeholder groups by maintaining & optimizing enterprise-grade applications (tech products & services).
Key critical skills and experience required:
Minimum 3-5 yearsxe2x80x99 IT/ IT Consulting experience
5+ years Application Support, Management and Diagnostics experience
Experience & understanding of Disaster Recovery, & business continuity management
Excellent communication, analytical skills and decision making ability in collaborative environments
Understanding of specific coding / scripting languages e.g. SQL, Oracle DB
Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills
Strong understanding of Linux
Understanding of Cloud platforms e.g. AWS
Knowledge in networking basic troubleshooting
Understand databases and have the ability to run queries on databases and extract data
Ability to navigate around OS Linux and Windows
Experience with application servers (know their way around servers, logs, monitoring)
Well informed in JBOSS and ability navigate
Experience and ability to transfer protocols, MQ and MFT xe2x80x93 good understanding
Comfortable to work independently as part of a hybrid way of work and leverage of the team as and when required
Problem-Solving: reacting to problems and correcting the program as necessary
Experience on SWIFT application will be will be an added advantage.
Industry, organisational and business awareness knowledge and skill.
Implement the SWIFT customer security framework in accordance with governance and compliance standards.
Key Accountabilities:
TROUBLESHOOTING is critical : ability to understand and breakdown a problem and solve
Ensure that incidents are logged correctly, and closed timeously
Clearly communicate the status of incidents and problem tickets to all stakeholders
Devising possible solutions to anticipated problems
Support the delivery managers by ensuring that the problem records are updated appropriately xe2x80x93 regular or within the dates specified on the last update
Ensure that all change compliance are met, and deployment plans are attached to all plans
Ensure monitoring of monitoring tools to detect problems early.
Ensure that latest patches are applied to the application servers.
Fully responsible for production stability and the change impact to production
Ensure satisfaction with changes and that the changes governance has been complied with and the impact of changes to production is understood before approval for implementation
Education
Bachelor's Degree: Information Technology
