Job Summary
A dynamic and growing company is urgently seeking an Accounting Technician to join their team in Durban. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional who can effectively communicate financial details via platforms like Microsoft Teams. The ideal candidate should possess a proactive and entrepreneurial mindset, along with a proven ability to quickly learn new systems and refine existing skills. Familiarity with tax regulations and experience with SARS and e-filing are also highly desirable. Responsibilities:

• Maintaining accurate financial records.
• Processing invoices and expense claims.
• Reconciling bank statements and other accounts.
• Assisting with the preparation of financial reports and statements.
• Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Supporting with payroll processing.
• Ensuring compliance with relevant financial regulations.
• Communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders regarding financial matters.

Requirements:

• A degree or diploma in accounting or a related field.
• Previous experience in an accounting role.
• Ability to learn new systems and related skills.
• Knowledge of tax.
• Some experience with SARS and e-filing.
• Proficiency in discussing details via platforms like Microsoft Teams.
• Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Pastel, QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
