Our client is looking for a dynamic, energised Accountant to join their team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the general accounting function for the Group. This includes the preparation of journals, reviewing accounts, maintaining balance sheet schedules, ledger accounts and bank reconciliations. You will also be responsible for setting up payments and releasing them through the bank, assisting with monthly closings, account analysis, calculating royalties fees for invoicing customers and supporting the Head Accountant in carrying out the responsibilities of the Accounting department.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Royalties: Invoice instructions for royalties and code subscription fees; mobile app fees and ensuring redemptions are calculated and processed before statements are sent out
Month end journal processing: Pay-outs, Ned fleet, credit cards, depreciation, inter branch transfers, travel, petty cash, mobile app, supplier imports, interest, turnover journals and profit share calculations
Monthly balance sheet reconciliations: Franchisee loan account; accrual accounts and credit cards
Cashbooks: Reviewing, posting and reconciliations
Prepare payments by verifying documentation with the required bank and releasing payments and transfers on scheduled time
Intercompany loans and AR and AP reconciliations
Corresponding with external parties: SARS, bankers, lawyers, franchisee partners, suppliers and customers
Effectively and timeously communicating discrepancies with the Head Accountant
IDT's: reconciling invoices processed on GAAP against Pastel
REQUIREMENTS:
Relevant finance related degree (B.Com or B.Tech)
4 years relevant experience
Experience within the Hospitality, Quick Service Restaurant, FMCG or Retail industry is preferred
Advanced Microsoft Office
