Job Summary

Fuel Transport company based in Verulam, KwaZulu Natal seeks the services of an experienced Vehicle Workshop Manager to join their Head Office team in Verulam. The candidate must ideally have held a similar position for no less then 5 years, controlling at least 50trucks / trailers

Minimum Requirements:

• Matric plus Diesel Mechanic Trade OR Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
• Fully computer literate on MS Office.
• Minimum 5 yearsxe2x80x99 experience managing a workshop at a management level with a fleet of at least 50 trucks and trailers.
• Must have Mechanical knowledge of Mercedes trucks and tankers
• BPW and WABCO knowledge and experience essential
• Tyre management experience

Key Responsibilities:

• The task of the workshop manager task will be split into the following Key Performance Areas:
• Finance
• Manage and co-ordinate warranty / claim process
• Manage and co-ordinate quotations
• Develop and implement budgets based on Management requirements

Workshop

• Effectively manage turnaround time and cost in the workshop
• Ensure preventative maintenance is carried out as per SANS standards and OEM requirements
• Develop and improve on the present management system
• Achieve workshop targets i.e., reduce breakdowns, reduce costs, improve turnaround time
• Investigate failures within the workshop area and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence
• Co-ordinate correct stock levels
• Implement modifications

Staff Management

• Manage individual performance of all technical staff
• Be actively involved in the recruitment of technical staff
• Implement a training and development program for technical staf

Customer Focus

• Provide customer service
• Resolve queries Quality and HSE
• Ensure workshop activities are in compliance to legal and SANS standards, Company procedures and Customer requirements.
• Implement HSE initiatives
