Job Summary Applicants are required to meet the following criteria: Grade 12 with relevant mechanical qualification and knowledge of all types of welding/engines 5+ years proven experience in a mechanical workshop environment At least 2 years experience with earthmoving machinery and construction machinery Proven managerial experience; plant/operational management of assets advantageous Good computer literacy and excellent communication skills Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines The successful applicant would be responsible for, but not limited to: Manage and develop a strong maintenance team within the workshop Schedule and oversee the workshop staff Increase the operational effectiveness, equipment availability and life cycle cost of machinery and equipment through preventative maintenance Be responsible for procurement, workflow planning, execution of projects on time and within budget Manage systems and processes that track and optimize productivity, standards, metrics, and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets Systematically monitor movement of company vehicles using vehicle tracking software and develop reporting systems to improve productivities in the use of these vehicles Ensure that SHE requirements are adhered to Oversee the implementation of SOPs and checklists for machinery Contribute to new business initiatives/projects and review/communicate the impact on maintenance activities. Produce written reports for Senior Management in terms of maintenance actions and costs. Perform minor maintenance work, including maintenance and repair of machinery and earthmoving mechanical vehicles Diagnose and manage the technical repair and maintenance of all vehicles and agricultural machinery.
