About the Position:
This position will report to the Cellar Master and is responsible for but not limited to the below duties and responsibilities:
Main Job Duties and Responsibilities
Winemaking (White and Red Wines)
Manage incoming grapes during harvest
Fermentation management and control in tanks and barrels
Tasting, blending and bottling of wines
Management of wine quality control and cellar hygiene
Staff Management (cellar workers)
Inventory control of wine and dry goods
Conduct wine tastings and wine promotions
Liaise with clients and suppliers
Admin and recordkeeping with regards to winemaking
Requirements:
BSc in Agriculture Viticulture and Oenology
Elsenburg Qualification in Cellar Technology or similar, with a main interest in Oenology
Literate in Afrikaans and English
5 - 8 years' relevant winemaking experience
Computer Literate
Reliable own vehicle and valid driver's license
No criminal record
Working hours are Monday to Thursday, from 07h00 - 17h00 and Friday, from 07h00 - 16h00
Willingness to work additional hours when required as per the wine industry requirements
