Sourcing and Procurement:
To achieve international sales growth it will be necessary to identify and grow established relationships with South African wineries, suppliers, and producers to source a broad range of wines, from entry level to high end.
Evaluate potential new suppliers based on quality, price, reliability, and fit with our customer requirements.
Product Selection and Curation:
Stay up-to-date with industry trends, wine varietals, regions, and international consumer preferences to curate a diverse and appealing wine portfolio.
Conduct tastings, assessments, and evaluations of potential international clients in order that their quality and taste requirements are understood.
Market and Consumer Research:
Conduct market research to understand the demand and preferences of international markets, tailoring wine selections to meet specific market needs.
Analyze consumer feedback, sales data, and market trends to optimize the wine portfolio and make data-driven decisions.
Logistics Management:
Work closely with the Business Development Managers and Export Co-ordinators to ensure fast and reliable delivery of orders.
Relationship Management:
Cultivate strong and positive relationships with international clients.
Liaise with internal teams, including BDMs, marketing, and ECs, to ensure smooth operations and alignment with business goals.
Reporting and Analysis:
Provide insights and recommendations based on reports, customer data and market trends to optimize purchasing and sales strategies and enhance business outcomes.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field. A wine-related certification is advantageous.
Proven experience in international wine sales and export processes.
In-depth knowledge of wine production, varietals, regions, and industry dynamics.
Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to build strong customer relationships.
Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret market trends and sales data.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data analysis tools.
Flexibility to travel often domestically and of specific importance, internationally.
