Job Description

The Warehouse Assistant Manager supports the daily operations of the warehouse to ensure efficiency, accuracy, safety, and high-quality service. This role assists the Warehouse Manager in supervising staff, coordinating workflow, managing inventory, and maintaining compliance with company policies and industry regulations. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of leading a team in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:



Operational Management



Assist in planning, organizing, and overseeing daily warehouse activities, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping. Monitor workflow to ensure on-time order fulfillment and efficient use of labor and equipment. Support implementation of warehouse procedures and best practices to improve productivity and accuracy.

Team Leadership



Supervise warehouse associates and help manage shift schedules to meet operational demands. Train, mentor, and guide staff on warehouse processes, safety protocols, and equipment use. Promote a positive team culture focused on performance, communication, and safety.

Inventory & Quality Control



Support inventory control activities, including stock rotation, cycle counts, and discrepancy resolution. Ensure accurate documentation and data entry within warehouse management systems. Maintain quality standards by ensuring proper handling, storage, and inspection of products.

Health, Safety & Compliance



Enforce compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper use of PPE, equipment, and warehouse layout. Conduct regular safety checks, incident reporting, and corrective actions. Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.

Equipment & Facility Management



Coordinate routine equipment maintenance, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and scanning devices. Support facility upkeep and liaise with service providers as required.

Communication & Reporting



Provide status updates to the Warehouse Manager and other stakeholders. Assist in preparing reports on productivity, inventory accuracy, staffing, and operational metrics. Communicate effectively with other departments, including procurement, logistics, and customer service.

Required Qualifications



Previous experience in warehouse operations (2-4 years preferred). Prior supervisory or team lead experience is an advantage. Knowledge of warehouse management systems and basic computer skills (Excel, inventory software, etc.). Familiarity with safety standards and warehouse equipment. Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills. Ability to lift and move materials as required.

Preferred Qualifications



Certification in logistics, supply chain management, or related field. Forklift certification. Experience in fast-paced or high-volume warehouse environments.
