Gibela Rail Transport Consortium invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the Wellness Manager to be based in Nigel. The role reports to the Human Resources Executive.

Purpose of the Job

  • Manage the implementation and promotion of Employee Health and Wellness Programmes and Interventions
  • Co-ordinate EAP, OHS, Work life and other employee health related programmes
  • Case management for IOD, medical, Psychological, Physical and Clinical related
  • Oversee full cycle for the medical incapacity process
Profile :
  • Registered Counsellor or Industrial Psychologist (HPCSA) (SACSSP)
  • Background in manufacturing or mining industry will be an added advantage
  • Basic knowledge of Employee/Labour Relations policies
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health Safety management
  • Stakeholder management skills
  • Conflict management and interpersonal relations (including diversity)skills
  • Proficient MS Office package
  • Design platforms (Videoxe2x80x99s and image creation) and Canva /Photoshop design
  • Conceptualising, designing and communicating information
  • Debriefing and counselling experience
  • Creating innovative and exciting wellness campaign
  • Business presentation skills and report writing for business results
  • Coordinate and set up the annual values survey, facilitate the process and provide feedback to the company.
  • Conducting climate and engagement surveys
  • Knowledge of relevant HR related legislation, policies and regulations

Facilitation and Stakeholders Engagement
  • Adherence of facilitation standards, methods, and procedures
  • Conduct research studies of physical work environments, organizational structures, communication systems, group interactions, morale, and motivation to assess organizational functioning
  • Identify interventions and programs for individuals and teams
  • Integrate the functional outputs with the work of other functions in the organization
  • Implement cultural interventions as and when needed.
Measurement (Key Performance Indicators)
  • Develop and implement a holistic initiatives by assessing and coordinating wellness programmes and services within Gibela that reflects the needs and the demographics of the company .
  • Assess the population needs to develop appropriate Wellness programmes based on insights and feedback from employees and other stakeholders.
  • Facilitates Wellness Focus Groups to collect information and understand the underlying needs of the employees
  • Develop, market, promote and impart knowledge on chronic disease management and wellness programs that engage and focus employees on fostering a healthy lifestyle, creating a general wellness / medical culture that is both proactive and preventative in nature, within the company
  • To conduct data gathering exercises and data analysis processes to establish health and wellness risks within the business pertaining to the total wellbeing of the workforce.
  • Develop programmes / interventions that will upskill employees on how to deal with current health problems and find health programs that will improve the employee's well-being
  • Design, source and implement a bespoke wellness program for the organization, including a health portal, lifestyle coaching, disease management, biometric screenings and financial wellness knowledge and awareness.
  • Develop marketing campaigns to promote a healthy lifestyle or participation in wellness initiatives.
  • Create a custom communication program component to increase engagement with employees.
  • Maintain collaborative partnerships with organizations and stakeholders that assist in the achievement of the company Employee Wellness Programme objectives.
  • Develop and apply metrics to ensure the effectiveness of health and wellness programmes, and modify programmes based on results.
  • Create awareness by sharing information trends and benchmarks as applicable.
  • Develop and implement communication and marketing strategies for promoting wellness programmes in consultation with the company HR Executive
  • Maintain and compile statistical data, Health Interest Survey to reflect the change in the employee population.
  • Implement assessment procedures to measure the return on investment of the health and wellness programmes.
  • Prepare monthly reporting on delivered initiatives, planned initiatives and employee participation and feedback.
Responsibilities and objectives:
  • Coordinate the development and implementation of relevant wellness initiatives and retrieve data and design reports based upon user needs.
  • Case management for IOD, medical, Psychological, Physical and Clinical related
  • Oversee full cycle for the medical incapacity process
  • Manage interns and their learning program related to Wellness and Communication
  • Assist with the recruitment of peer educators and ensure that they are trained and developed adequately.
  • Source, negotiate with service providers to deliver wellness support w Adherence of facilitation standards, methods, and procedures
  • Conduct research studies of physical work environments, organizational structures, communication systems, group interactions, morale, and motivation to assess organizational functioning.

  • Integrate the functional outputs with the work of other functions in the organization
  • Implement cultural interventions as and when needed.
Business understanding and desired knowledge/experience

Minimum education required
  • BCOM Hons Industrial Psychology
  • Masters Degree in Industrial Psychology will be an advantage
Minimum experience required
  • 5 yearsxe2x80x99 experience as an Industrial Psychologist
