Job Description

Our client, a leading multi-disciplinary engineering consulting firm, is looking for another talented professional to complement their team, in the form of a Water Design Engineer.

The below listed responsibilities and requirements is assessed during the interview stages and will further be confirmed with the relevant professional references that you currently are or have reported to in your previously two positions.

Core Purpose:

The purpose of the job is to produce technical deliverables and lead a team of Engineers and Technicians in the design, procurement and contract administration of large scale multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects.

Key Performance Areas:

• Technical Contract Documents.
• Design and documentation of projects involving the conveyance and treatment of both Water and Wastewater and associated technologies (e.g. water distribution, pump stations, pipelines and treatment plants)
• Work independently and review project technical deliverables
• Experience in both greenfield and brownfield projects
• Experience with GCC2015, SABS1200 and COLTO
• Good communication and people skills
• Preparation of reports and presentations
• Competent with Civil Designer, Civil3D and AutoCAD

• Relevant Tertiary Qualification (B.Eng or B.Tech)
• Pr.Eng / Pr.Tech.Eng
• NQF 5 and/or 7 in labour intensive construction projects (an Advantage)

• A pre-requisite is that candidates have 5 or more yearsxe2x80x99 experience with specific Municipal Infrastructure Design experience.

• Infrastructure Design experience a pre-requisite
