Job Description

Ba-Phalaborwa Golf Club, on behalf of Indalo Hotels and Leisure is looking for waitrons to provide exceptional dining and beverage service to members and guests, ensuring a memorable experience at the golf club.

This role involves delivering prompt, courteous, and knowledgeable service in the clubhouse dining areas, banquet events, or on-course refreshment stations while maintaining the club's high standards.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial:

Process payments timeously accurately using the club's POS system and ensure proper handling of member accounts. Control and monitoring of guest supplies, utilities and supplies to ensure continuous cost saving. Ensure cash-ups are done using the correct procedure.

Clients:

Maintain high standards of customer service and hospitality. Ensure a memorable guest and member journey from the welcome experience, in-service, until departure. Ensure consistent delivery of a premium dining experience through attention to detail and proactive service management by being on the club floor. Be an ambassador for the club, building strong professional relationships with members and guests. Handle customer complaints and resolve issues promptly and professionally. Always be on the floor serving within your designated area. Maintain a safe, clean and organised workplace. Greet members and guests warmly, ensuring a welcoming and professional atmosphere. Present menus, explain specials, and answer questions about food and beverages with enthusiasm and expertise. Take accurate orders and ensure timely delivery of food and beverages. Monitor tables and proactively attend to guests' needs, including refilling beverages and addressing concerns.

Procedures:

Set up and break down dining areas, banquet rooms, or beverage stations as required. Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and dining areas. Follow opening and closing procedures to ensure readiness for service. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations. Ensure consistent food and beverage quality by conducting regular checks. Follow club policies regarding alcohol service, including checking identification when necessary. Report any safety hazards or incidents to management promptly.

Human Resources:

Work closely with kitchen staff, bartenders, and other servers to ensure seamless service. Assist in training new staff members and promote a team-oriented environment. Attend mentoring and training initiatives, to ensure personal and professional career growth. Communicate effectively with supervisors about any challenges or guest feedback. Comply with grooming standards, company dress and uniform code. Attend verbal and written handovers upon arrival and shift change. Must clock in upon arrival and clock out upon departure, of shift.

Ideal Experience

Certificate in Restaurant and Bar Service at a recognized and reputable institution.

Minimum Qualifications

Grade 12. Proven experience as a Waitron or Server or similar role, preferably in a golf club. Must have a reputable, relevant and unbroken record of service.
