An Accounting Officer at FLOAM handles the financial record keeping of an organization and prepare invoices, record payments, and manage the expenses of the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities:
You report to the Finance & Admin Manager
Be the second in charge in the absence of the FA Manager
Constantly, update, manage and document CIPC year-end filing and returns.
Ensure our registration status is up to date with CIPC and SARS
Maintaining and reviewing financial records
Ensuring compliance with accounting and tax returns
Preparing budgets regularly
Monitoring expenditure and profits and providing reports
Evaluating internal management systems, procedures and risks in order to provide recommendations
Managing sponsorship accounts and preparing financial statements
Sign off and approve payments in the absence of the FA director
Controls the organization budget
Financial support of all projects
Ensure that all teaching resources are bought in time (Future)
Control monthly budget
Record and file all transactions
Data capturing and system registering of all learners (Future)
Internal auditing to prepare for SARS audits
Assist in the internal control procedures
Complying with South Africa's accepted accounting and auditing practices, as regards procedures, banking, reporting and record keeping
Conducting annual financial audits.
Preparing realistic annual organisational income and expenditure budgets
Monitoring the actual income and expenditure performances against the budgets and adhering to them where possible.
Introducing clear procedures for the authorisation, preparation, signing and issuing of cheques;
Establishing acceptable ratios and standards to keep control of fundraising and administration costs;
Ensuring that designated funds are used only for the purpose for which they were given;
Reducing the risk of financial dependency on narrow funding sources by developing a diversified funding base;
Establishing an effective purchasing system that: Ensures competitive quotations are considered where applicable; purchase orders are authorised; that goods or services are checked against purchase orders; payment procedures are adhered to; and appropriate records are maintained.
Attend all meetings called by the MD or the departmental manager
Applications for academic admission remains a priority for all FLOAM members
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: R1,00 - R2,00 per month
Expected hours: 5 - 10 per week
