We are seeking a skilled Voice and Internet Technician with hands-on experience in MikroTik routers and switches, VoIP systems, and internet service delivery. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the deployment, configuration, and support of voice and data connectivity solutions across SME and enterprise environments. The role requires an in-depth understanding of network infrastructure, routing protocols, and VoIP platforms to deliver high-availability, secure, and standards-compliant solutions.
Install, configure, and maintain MikroTik routers, switches, and access points according to network standards
Deploy and support VoIP systems including Yeastar PBX, Yealink IP phones, and SIP trunking services
Set up internet services such as fibre, LTE failover, microwave links, and bandwidth balancing
Configure firewall rules, NAT, VPN tunnels, VLANs, PPPoE, and DHCP servers
Troubleshoot LAN/WAN, IP routing, and VoIP issues using diagnostic tools
Conduct site assessments, document configurations, and maintain updated network diagrams
Ensure all deployments adhere to structured cabling and network security standards
Work with the technical and support teams to resolve escalated connectivity and voice faults
Update firmware and apply patches across all networking and voice hardware platforms
Complete job cards, installation reports, and maintain accurate asset registers
Requirements
Education & Certifications:
Matric / Grade 12 (Compulsory)
MikroTik MTCNA (Required)
MikroTik MTCRE, CCNA, or other network certifications (Advantageous)
VoIP or PBX training (Yeastar, 3CX, or equivalent) preferred
Valid driver's license and own reliable transport
Clear criminal record
Experience:
2-4 years' experience in field installation of internet and VoIP services
Hands-on experience with MikroTik RouterOS, WinBox, and WebFig
Working knowledge of VoIP architecture, PBX configuration, and SIP routing
Practical exposure to routing, NAT, VLANs, IP addressing, and sub netting
Familiarity with structured cabling, network cabinets, and wireless bridge configuration
Soft Skills:
Excellent problem-solving and fault diagnosis skills
Strong communication and customer interaction ability
Ability to work independently and under pressure
Attention to detail with a high level of technical documentation discipline
