Holland & Associates Environmental Consultants (www.hollandandassociates.net) is looking for a suitably qualified and experienced Environmental Assessment Practitioner (EAP) to join their growing team of high-caliber environmental professionals. The candidate must have experience in undertaking EIA processes in South Africa, including an established track-record of managing environmental authorisation processes from start to finish. The main responsibilities of the successful candidate will include the undertaking and management of environmental authorisation processes (including Basic Assessment and Scoping & EIA processes, S24G applications, amendment applications, amongst others), undertaking of Environmental Due Diligence Investigations, report compilation, management of specialists, public and authority consultation, as well as project administration.

Qualifications/Experience Required:





Appropriate post graduate degree (minimum: Honours degree), in Environmental Science/ Environmental Management or related field. Registered EAP with the Environmental Assessment Practitioners Association of South Africa (EAPASA) Thorough understanding of South African environmental legislation and a minimum of 6 years relevant experience in undertaking environmental authorisation processes; Excellent communication and report writing skills (English) (however proficiency in Afrikaans in addition to English is advantageous); Excellent organisational and project management skills with meticulous record keeping ability; Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to perform under pressure; Ability to work across disciplines and across industries; Liaising with clients, specialists, members of the public, as well as authorities; Self-motivated, with excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to work well in a team environment as well as the ability to work independently; Strong values - ethics and integrity; Experience with renewable energy projects, ESG, and/or an allied specialist sub-discipline (e.g. aquatic ecology, terrestrial biodiversity, climate change etc) will be an advantage. The successful candidate will be based in Cape Town, but must be willing to travel (if required) and have a valid driver's license and own transport.
