What will you do?

The core function of this role is to design experience strategies and information architecture that support and guide product design and delivery teams in ensuring consistent and seamless experiences across the business that deliver on Sanlam CX's vision.

UX architecture plays a pivotal role in shaping the way our users interact with our products and services. This requires constant alignment between businesses and key stakeholders to ensure that needs across the Sanlam ecosystem are considered and catered for within the overall strategy, architecture, and final deliverables of CX design. Acting as a connection between the CX strategy and CX design teams, this role is vital in defining and guiding key strategic aims and business requirements, with the end goal of translating these into designs that meet both business goals and customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define the structural and strategic aspects of the User Experience for Sanlam CX, including UX Architecture best practices, strategy and guidelines
  • Research and provide thought leadership on best practices related to user experience, strategy and UX Architecture to ensure that the strategy remains in step but also exceeds and delights consumer behaviour with technology and experience advancement.
  • Define information architecture, sitemaps, and user flows to create logical and organized structures for our products. Ensure the information hierarchy supports user goals and enhances usability.
  • Guide, inform and contribute to the creation of wireframes and interactive prototypes to communicate design concepts and facilitate user testing.
  • Drive iteration on design solutions based on user feedback and team collaboration.
  • Advocate for accessibility and inclusivity in UX design, ensuring that our products are usable.by all audiences
  • Inform and guide the activities of User Experience Design and Product Design team members, by providing the strategies and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with CX Strategists, Service Designers and Researchers, BA's, Product Owners and key stakeholders across the Sanlam group to have input into analysis and articulation of requirements, adding value in solving for those requirements, and building a deep understanding of the current and future desired experience , and work with the CX team to help Sanlam iterate the current experience towards the desired state.
  • With the help of CX research, consistently evaluate customers' needs, validate our assumptions and proposed solutions, with the aim to move towards an optimised end state, optimizing user experiences across the Sanlam CX mandate.
  • Build UX framework that can support the Digital Web and Mobile CX strategy.
  • Help define & create a unified experience across the value chain and market segments with the segment heads, by considering the journeys and service strategies as defined by CX Strategy, within the articulation of the Sanlam ecosystem of touchpoints and the facilitation of interactions from a holistic viewpoint, and help co-ordinate and integrate these touchpoints into a fluent and logical whole that guides the overall design and execution of the work.
  • Provide input and recommendations in the management of various product roadmaps with Sanlam CX customer vision, from the viewpoint of the UX Architecture, towards creating a balanced and elegant experience across multiple product solutions amidst constraints in the product's technical framework.
  • Effectively manage and engage business stakeholders where required within the Sanlam Group
What will make you successful in this role?

Our ideal candidate has:
  • 5+ years experience in UX Architect, UX design, UX strategy, UX research, Digital product creation and strategy, Service and interaction design.
  • Extensive experience in conducting research in emerging markets , related to the behaviours and use of digital services
  • Extensive experience in the creation of digital financial services and products
  • Exposure to and experience in the use of emerging financial technologies and innovation in the financial services space Advantageous: Product ownership/management experience
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Interaction Design, Multimedia design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), User Experience Design, or a related field.
  • Advantageous: UXPM Level 1 Certification

  • Familiarity with front-end technologies and their impact on UX design.
