Our client has an opportunity available for a Unix Systems Manager based in Sandringham.

Requirements:

NQF level 6 National Diploma in Information Technology.
Red Hat certified Engineer or Administrator.
8 years relevant experience with 3 years in a supervisory or project management capacity.
Storage area network certification.
VMware certified professional.
Valid driver's license.
Experience with fibre channel-based storage.
Linux based cluster experience.
Knowledge of:

Responsibilities:

Manage the Unix team to ensure smooth operation, installation, support and maintenance.
Manage the storage network administration, back-up and data recovery environments.
Resolve service related queries and ensure effective service delivery.
Contribute to the IT strategy and budget development.
Manage the Unix/Linux environment to ensure security, reliability, capacity and availability of systems.
Maintain the system documentation to ensure business continuity.
Manage internal IT projects in accordance with business needs to ensure effective service delivery.
