Job Description


We are thrilled to present an exciting opportunity for an Operations Systems Manager to join a reputable agricultural company based in the Western Cape. As a vital part of the General Operations team, you will spearhead the management and optimization of critical systems that underpin the company's daily operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee projects within the General Operations department, ensuring they align with pre-defined KPIs and objectives.
  • Collaborate closely with the Operations Manager, providing valuable support and insights.
  • Monitor and maintain the efficiency and effectiveness of operations-related systems during the company's day-to-day activities.
  • Manage the integration, upkeep, and enhancement of ERP applications, driving streamlined business processes.
  • Work hand-in-hand with various team leads to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.
  • Facilitate change management strategies to ensure smooth transitions and stakeholder buy-in.
  • Implement and uphold controls to ensure compliance and operational excellence across functions.
  • Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly reports, offering actionable recommendations for ongoing enhancements.
  • Oversee the annual audit process, ensuring meticulous documentation and adherence to standards.
  • Maintain accurate process flows and learning materials records to provide support to end users and super users.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Tertiary qualification in a related field and/or BComm degree.
  • Background in operational management within the agricultural industry is advantageous.
  • Strong administrative and reporting skills, with keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in risk assessment and reporting.
  • Familiarity with grains and oilseeds (maize, wheat, soya beans, sunflower seed, oils, and soya bean meal) would be advantageous.
  • Experience in silo operations administration is beneficial.
  • Proven expertise in automating systems, processes, and aligning them with business goals.
  • Proficient in change management principles, ensuring smooth adoption of changes.
  • Excellent communication skills in both Afrikaans and English, both written and verbal.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to work effectively in collaborative and independent settings.
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and web-based tools.
Function:
  • Provide comprehensive support for Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
  • Oversee and coordinate systems projects within the General Operations department across multiple sites.
  • Develop, manage, and optimize internal ERP systems, driving the implementation of efficient business processes.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify operational gaps and opportunities, driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain regular communication and collaboration with various team leads.
  • Establish and maintain controls to ensure operational compliance and integrity.
  • Generate and manage monthly management dashboard reports, providing valuable insights.
  • Manage the annual audit process, ensuring meticulous attention to detail and adherence to standards.
  • Maintain accurate process flows and learning materials records to provide comprehensive user support.
Desirable Skills:
  • Background in grains and oilseeds (maize, wheat, soya beans, sunflower seed, oils, and soya bean meal) is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and their practical application.
  • Demonstrated experience in successful Project Management.
