A vacancy is currently available for a Turner based in Boksburg, Gauteng - an ideal chance to grow your career with an industry leader.
Key Responsibilities:

• Operate lathes and other machine tools to produce precision metal parts.
• Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
• Set up tools and equipment for turning operations.
• Maintain and calibrate machinery to ensure optimal performance.
• Inspect finished products for accuracy and quality.
• Use measuring instruments like micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
• Select appropriate materials for machining based on job specifications.
• Handle raw materials and finished components safely.
• Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Record production data and machine settings.
• Report any equipment malfunctions or quality issues.
• Work closely with engineers, supervisors, and other machinists.
• Assist in troubleshooting and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications and Skills Requirements:

• Trade Test Certificate as a Turner (recognized by the relevant SETA or NQF Level 4 qualification).
• 2-5 years of experience in a machining or engineering workshop environment.
• Experience working with CNC and manual lathes is often required.
