Urgent Hiring: SHE (Safety, Health, Environment) Officer
We are looking for an experienced SHE Officer to join our client in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town to lead their safety, health, and environmental initiatives. This critical role ensures compliance with ISO45001 standards and promotes a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible workplace, especially during a period of increased production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all SHE-related activities, including audits, risk assessments, incident investigations, and legal compliance
- Develop, update, and maintain safety files, procedures, and documentation
- Conduct safety training for staff, contractors, and visitors
- Oversee environmental controls and occupational hygiene surveys
- Lead safety programs, including emergency preparedness, PPE management, and waste disposal
- Liaise with government authorities and regulatory bodies
- Drive continuous SHE improvements and ensure ISO45001 compliance
- Respond swiftly to incidents and maintain fire, security, and hygiene standards
- Conduct regular SHE audits and monitor safety targets
- Grade 12 and Samtrac Certification or relevant Degree/Diploma in Safety Management, Manufacturing, or Engineering
- Minimum of 5 years' safety experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of SHE legislation and ISO45001 standards
- Excellent communication skills in English
