Grade 12

2-3 year's experience in transport operations or breakdown coordination (preferred).

Strong knowledge of trucks, trailers, and basic Mechanical or Diesel Mechanical knowledge (course or workshop training) is an advantage.

Ability to work under pressure and handle emergencies calmly.

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Computer literacy (tracking systems, WhatsApp, outlook/email, Excel)

Willing to work shifts, nights, weekends, and be on standby.

Valid driver's licence (EC is an advantage)

Receive and respond to all breakdown calls immediately.

Diagnose the problem remotely where possible.

Dispatch mechanics, recovery vehicles, or roadside assistance as needed.

Arrange towing, tyre repairs, or replacements.

Track and monitor the status of each breakdown until resolved.

Communicate with drivers/fleet controllers, provide instructions, and ensure safety procedures are followed.

Verify driver location, load status, and vehicle condition.

Ensure drivers complete breakdown reports and send necessary photos.

Communicate with workshops, tyre suppliers, towing partners, and service providers.

Escalate major incidents to the Transport Manager.

Keep customers updated on delays or changes in delivery schedules.

Record all breakdowns on the internal tracking or TMS system.

Capture costs for repairs, tyres, towing, and parts.

Produce daily/weekly breakdown reports and identify recurring issues.

Ensure breakdowns are handled in the most cost-effective manner.

Compare supplier quotes and negotiate where possible.

Monitor repeat faults and recommend preventative action.
