TLB Operator & Bush-Clearing Supervisor

Linton Farms -- Mankazana District (near Adelaide, Eastern Cape)

Overview

Linton Farms is seeking a skilled TLB Operator with proven experience to lead our bush-clearing and wattle-removal operations. This role combines hands-on machinery work with day-to-day supervision of a small team responsible for clearing black wattle, thorn trees, and general maintenance around the farm. Strong communication and basic digital competency are essential, as you'll be expected to report daily progress and weekly updates.

Key Responsibilities

Operate a TLB safely, efficiently, and confidently (loading, digging, land prep, trenching, clearing). Operate and maintain other farm machinery Lead and manage a team clearing black wattle, thorn trees, and general bush. Create and coordinate daily work plans and ensure tasks are completed on time. Maintain the TLB, machinery, tools, and equipment and report issues immediately. Provide

daily progress updates via WhatsApp

and

weekly status reports

. Assist with general farm maintenance (roads, firebreaks, fencing, water lines). Work with the broader farm team and handle shifting priorities as needed.

Requirements

Minimum 3 years' TLB operating experience

, with the ability to demonstrate competency. Experience supervising or leading a small team. Experience with general repairs and maintenance Proven mechanical knowledge

Clear and reliable communicator

, able to follow instructions and give updates.

Comfortable using digital tools

(WhatsApp, basic phone-based reporting, photos/videos). Physically fit and able to work outdoors in all conditions. Valid driver's licence. Must live on the farm or commute daily from Adelaide or Bedford. Professional references required.

Advantageous (Not Required)

Experience working with livestock. Chainsaw competency certificate.
