You will play a leading technical role in setting up and running a
high-standard workshop
, combining your extensive
mechanical and electrical skills with CAD design expertise
to bring projects to life.
Key Responsibilities
Restore, refurbish, and modify carts to exceptional standards.
Develop custom designs and internal product solutions using
Fusion 360
for part design and fabrication planning.
Design, fabricate, and build components and systems with precision, meeting internal expectations for quality and finish.
Assist management in establishing and setting up workshop processes, layouts, tools, and standards.
Diagnose, repair, and integrate
mechanical and electrical systems
, including wiring harness design and electrical fault finding.
Liaise with suppliers to source materials, parts, tools, and equipment efficiently.
Plan and manage projects with realistic timelines and effective execution.
Work both at a desk (design and planning) and in the workshop (hands-on fabrication, assembly, and builds).
Requirements
Extensive
mechanical and electrical technical experience
(trade test, technician qualification, or equivalent practical exposure).
Proven
CAD part design and fabrication experience (Fusion 360 essential)
.
Strong skills in
welding, fitting, wiring, and mechanical assembly
.
Automotive industry experience highly advantageous.
Ability to think deeply through problems for optimal, practical solutions.
Excellent attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
Resourceful, proactive, and self-driven with strong project planning abilities.
Comfortable working in a
leading role in establishing a cutting-edge workshop
.

Requirements:
A
Trade Qualification (Millwright, Mechanical Fitter, Auto Electrician, or similar)
with proven CAD design skills(Fusion 360).
Or:
a
National Diploma or Higher Certificate
in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Automotive Engineering plus practical workshop experience*. Or: a
Qualified Artisan with extensive post-trade CAD design and fabrication experience
.
Own vehicle for transport
*A design and fabrication portfolio will be highly advantageous for the success of your application.
