We are currently seeking a Technical Training Instructor (Africa), to be based at our training centre based in Kestell (Free State province in South Africa). The successful candidate will be responsible for identify training needs by evaluating strengths and weaknesses, translating requirements into trainings that will groom employees for the next step of their career path, and building the annual training program and preparing teaching plans.

What will you do:

  • Directly offer the technical training to the dealer and the end user.
  • Manage apprenticeship training scheme for Africa region.
  • Utilize the training software (LMS) as daily work platform.
  • Offer French speaking training to the dealer and the end user in French speaking territories.
  • As a member of the APA training team, the training territory will not only cover South Africa, and the rest of Africa, but will also include ANZ and Far east countries etc.
  • Offer training and optimize the training based on the current situation; keep training components updated.
  • Develop or oversee the production of classroom handouts, instructional materials, aids and manuals.
  • Direct structured learning experiences and monitor their quality results.
  • Acclimate new hires to the business and conduct orientation sessions.
  • Assess training effectiveness to ensure incorporation of taught skills and techniques into employees work behaviour.
  • Periodically evaluate ongoing programs to ensure that they reflect any changes.
  • Review training material and adapt to suit local market, (French & English).
  • Assist other trainers as needed in delivering ILT classes, online classes and off-site classes.
  • Successful candidate to be located or be able to relocate close to the vicinity of the training centre in Kestell Free State South Africa.
What will you bring:
  • Bachelors/ Technical Degree.
  • Excellent mechanical engineering knowledge, with at least 6-8 years' work experience in agricultural, mining, or construction machinery.
  • Experience with Enterprise software and training management software.
  • Good English (as 1st language) and French (as 2nd language) speaking and writing.
  • Good communication skills across the full scope of the organisation including other countries and cultures.
A plus if you have:
  • Ability to work accurately and pay attention to detail.
