Job Description

Location: Wynberg, Sandton

Requirements:

• Matric
• Technical Draughting qualification
• 2 years of experience in a similar position
• Previous sheet metal experience is an added advantage
• 3D CAD Software experience (Solid Edge preferred)
• Own reliable transport and a Valid drivers license
• Experience / training with a CAD package, Solid Edge & AutoCAD preferential
• Experience with ERP or MRP software beneficial
• Experience with MS Office software
• Must be technically and mechanically minded

Responsibilities:

• Prepare manufacturing instructions / Works Orders
• Overflow design / drawing work from engineering dept.
• Creating the engineering drawings of 3D CAD models that the engineers have created.
• Less complex / quicker design jobs.
• Taking a brief from customers (understand their requirements, advise on possible solutions with our capabilities in mind).
• Drawings maintenance (updating revisions or improving existing drawings / designs).
• Transferring drawings from one format into a more appropriate format for use within our system (prepare / modify CAD files as needed).
• Estimating and costing of new request for quotes.
• Create and maintain working relationships with existing and new clients.
• Ensuring that jobs are completed within the expected time frame as estimated.

• Creating of bill of materials.

• Creating work orders.
• Processing purchase orders
• Communicating with staff on all levels from engineering department to workshop floor.

• Creating workshop manufacturing drawings and project folders.
• Working on ERP Systems (Mietrak Pro).
• Ensuring that customers expectations and requirements are fully met in terms of quality and lead times.

• Creating weldment and assembly drawings on Solid edge ST10.
