Technical Manager

An established sub-metering solutions provider located in Sandton, Gauteng is in search of a Technical Manager with at least 4 years of experience leading technical teams. The successful candidate will oversee project operations, coordinate team activities and provide innovative technical support both remotely and on-site. This role requires exceptional stakeholder communication, a client-centric approach, and the ability to deliver high-quality, tailored solutions. Strong analytical thinking, a proactive mindset, and the capability to manage multiple complex projects are essential for success in this position.

Minimum Requirements:

National Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering. Vehicle and valid Driver's License. Minimum of 4 years' experience leading a technical team. Certified Energy Manager. Wireman's License (advantageous) Smart metering experience (advantageous) Proven experience in project management. Sound knowledge of Eskom and municipal tariff structures, including implementation strategies for effective cost recovery.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Draft and review reports based on site assessments and client requirements; document daily operational issues and propose practical, sustainable solutions. Keep stakeholders informed on progress and technical challenges. Develop and maintain lasting relationships with clients by arranging meetings, understanding unique needs, and promoting relevant solutions and services. Oversee site readiness with the Installations Manager for metering implementation including bulk checks, CT meters, kiosks, and both smart prepaid and post-paid technologies. Address client inquiries, troubleshoot issues, and deliver accurate product information in accordance with company standards. Engage effectively with senior stakeholders on complex technical matters. Lead, mentor, and manage technical teams to ensure optimal performance. Drive process improvements across operational areas and guarantee that frontline staff are well-trained and aligned with company protocols.
