Job Description

A market leader in the container customization and rental market, based in the Western Cape, is looking for a dynamic individual to join their team as Technical Draftsman. The successful candidate must have a thorough understanding of technical standards and specifications, and key responsibilities will include creating accurate and detailed technical design drawings used for manufacturing (using CAD programs), construction and/or installation of projects and preparation of cost estimates for projects.

Key responsibilities:

Create and modify 2D and/or 3D drawings using relevant software.

Work with clients to understand and translate design requirements into drawings.

Ensure that all drawings comply with applicable industry standards and internal guidelines.

Maintain version control records on all drawings and documentation.

Contribute to project planning and documentation as required.

Complete tasks within established deadlines without compromising accuracy.

Prepare cost analysis based on technical drawings, engineering estimates, materials required, and labour involved.

Prepare bills of quantities.

Prepare client quotations.

Control all stages of projects within predetermined budget and expenses.

Monitor and tracks project progress and is responsible for measuring and valuing variations in work during the project.

Work as part of a team to ensure that client requirements are met.

Perform monthly valuations of work in progress, including forecasting final costs and sales.

Manage and produce accurate formal reports in accordance with business requirements.

Monitor all information relating to the project, including labor, material and other cost forecasts, to ensure that budgets are met.

Provide all relevant information to Management Members for review at the specified intervals.

Assist the relevant Management Members with a range of other duties as may be required from time to time.

Qualifications and experience:

National Certificate / Diploma in Technical Drawing / CAD / Mechanical Design, or similar.

At least 3 - 5 year's experience in the relevant field.

Experience and proficiency with CAD programs.

Knowledge of ISO drawing standards.

Strong spatial and technical insight.

Accurate and attentive work style.

Excellent communicator and motivator with the ability to communicate across all levels.

Fully bilingual in Afrikaans and English (write and speak).

Organized and able to work under pressure.

Key requirements:

Must be able to commute to the Blackheath Industrial area on a daily basis, or willing to relocate at own expense

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: R25000,00 - R40000,00 per month
