Job Summary
Position: Electrical Designer/Draftsman (Permanent)
Location: Alrode, Alberton (Engineering/Manufacturing Environment)
Work Schedule: 06:30 - 15:30 (Monday-Friday)
Salary: Competitive, based on experience
Requirements:
- 3-5 years' experience in electrical design/ drafting within engineering/ manufacturing.
- Technical Skills:
- MCC, PLC, DB design & manufacturing (advantageous)
- Proficiency in Eplan & AutoCAD (non-negotiable)
- Ability to develop electrical schematics, automation drawings, and layout designs
- Strong administrative skills with adherence to project timelines
- Knowledge of ECSA Code of Conduct and engineering standards
- Develop detailed electrical designs using Eplan & AutoCAD, including MCC, PLC, DB, RIO, GA layouts, and network diagrams
- Create and manage BOMs and project documentation
- Assist in preliminary designs, proposals, and testing within the engineering department
- Implement redlining during FAT, commissioning, and handover phases
- Ensure compliance with ECSA guidelines and company quality/safety standards
- Liaise with clients, procurement, and manufacturing teams to resolve design queries
